I'm still restoring the archive of old blog entries that was lost, links, and all that stuff. A word of caution: free WiFi is great, but don't go online without protection. Don't allow the universe to have access to all your accounts, passwords, and info.Related: I must confess that I haven't used QuarkXPress, oh, since not so long after I entered the last comment above.InDesign began to be requested and I purchased Adobe Creative Studio 2. It solved a lot of my misgivings about the way it handled type. I had pledged to myself to upgrade to Quark 8 the moment I needed to. I just haven't needed to.I don't know if this constitutes "drinking the Kool-Aid" or not, but I have Adobe CS5 pre-ordered. I'm looking forward to its internal tools for creating eBooks from within InDy.

A lot’s happened since my last comment on August 15, 2008.

Unrelated: my website, blog, and Twitter account were hacked into. I guess you’ve summed up my overall feeling about the two pieces of software. Quark remains just a bit more intuitive than InDy and is, therefore, quicker to get certain repetitive type-handling things done. InDy is otherwise a fine program that produces good (and good-looking) pages.

Thanks, Rob. I, too, prefer the way Quark handles type. And I find the quick keys better in Quark for type size, leading and kerning/tracking really easy and intuitive and I haven't been able to get that ease of use in InDy. (But ID is better in other ways!) :)Rob Cubbon's last blog post..Using vector illustrations in designs to deliver your message

Hi Steve, Very interesting article.
