I’m a bit on Katie’s side because I find InDesign to be user-UNfriendly. I’m much more accustomed to Photoshop, and when I started Illustrator, I was disoriented at first but then I got to love it. I can’t say the same for InDesign though. Ever since Day 1 of InDesign I felt like I was InHell. lol. I guess layouting probably isn’t meant for everyone, eh?

i hate indesign because i have to do in a class and it is super hard. who came up with this???????

Amy, I suspect you are able to hide/show all layers with a shortcut because it's actually a menu option in the layers panel. If the option to do what you want isn't in the Edit>Keyboard Shortcuts... area (show/hide layers is under Panel Menus and then scroll down to Layers), then you can't assign a shortcut to it. Someone may have created a plugin or script though! You may also find a script writer to do something like that for you, though it may not be cheap.
